Damage Under the Sink

The space underneath any sink in your house is always at risk for water damage. Sometimes a leak starts for no reason. Sometimes the kids leave the sink on not realizing that water has started to escape over the edge, onto the floor, and into any crevice that it can drip its way into. Whatever the case, you could find yourself in a situation like this client. The water damage under the sink had gone on for a while, but as the leak got worse they noticed the state it was in. That is when they realized the extent to which the wood at the bottom of the cupboard had been damaged.

The before photo shows how it looked before we got there, and the after photo shows how it looked once all the beyond repair wood had been removed. We knew that the best thing to do would be to go ahead at pull-out whatever needed to be removed. Better to replace some wood in the cupboard than to find mold there later!
