Pekin Library Cleanup
There are few things as frustrating as damage from an uncontrollable force like a storm. At the end of 2018, that is exactly the kind of damage that affected the Pekin Library. After an incredibly heavy rain, there was a flood in the library that soaked through the walls and into the floors. This, of course, threatened the computers and other electronics in the building; but it was most threatening to the books. Water damage to paper can mean total loss if it is bad enough. To make sure that the damage didn’t go any farther than it initially had, they made a call to SERVPRO®.
Our teams arrived in the wee hours of the morning and started work. The cleanup and restoration continued from the end of 2018 all the way into February of 2019. They cleaned carpets, replaced drywall, and took particularly good care of the books. After those months of work, the library is now back in working order.
Needless to say, we all felt honored to have been a part of the cleaning and restoration of a building as important as the Pekin Library.
